Banfield Pet Hospital

I've had great experiences when Dr Moore was there, recently my dog went in for a routine visit.. he's 17 1/2 after the visit I got he needed his teeth removed for 3,000 and his heart murmur to be checked down the street for another 1,000.00 he's 17!!!!!' he might not wake up after surgery... couple months later, i called to have him put down because I came home from work and he was in bad shape, called at 5:00pm they close at 6:00 and they said the doctor is leaving for the day... THANKS A LOt after being a loyal banfield customer for 17 years. Went to another Dr in Frederick, they were going to close in an hour but they took him...they told me he had 3 slipped discs, possibly cancer, weak muscles......none of that was mentioned from Banfield.... just TEETH when he had a routine visit.... they are the McDonalds of veterinary service... go elsewhere and save your monthly fee. Talk to your staff, customer service needs improvement, they need to be a little more thorough with your pet and not worry so much about money... this conversation is over!

I like that they have available appointments, I went inside and the doctor was really great and to the point

All of the stars in this review go to the vet techs, who are kind, attempt to bond with my dog even though she can be nervous, and were so patient with me and my questions. I've visited this location twice with my dog and saw Dr. Amy Jones. She answered my questions with a sharp and dismissive tone, and would talk over me when I tried to clarify what she said. She suggested muzzles multiple times to me at my first appointment despite my questions not being related to those at all. At my second appointment we weren't able to draw blood for the heartworm test, so she told the tech she didn't need to see my dog. I thought that was odd because I still had questions about allergy medicine and my dogs ear was red. The tech had to go back to Dr. Jones to ask about the allergy medicine and when she came back to the room and was explaining the answer to me, Dr. Jones stood in the window of the room and rolled her eyes behind the techs back. She flung open the door and start speaking loudly at me without listening to my questions. She was completely rude in her presentation and seemed like she was frustrated with me since I was confused. I then told her that I would talk to someone else because this wasn't helpful for me. I left the room and stopped to make an appointment with a different Dr. and she followed me shortly after with print outs of articles. I could have found those articles on google myself, and the whole point of seeing a vet in person is to have a conversation so that I don't make incorrect assumptions. I would always rather talk to a professional, rather than be left to try and figure something out on my own. Finally, on my banfield account online there is nothing written in the visit summaries. I am not sure if this is normal or not but I think it is odd that there wouldn't be documentation of the allergy medicine recommended to me, or the dosages.
